About Amanda Giorgis
There was always a book in my head waiting to come out, but it took a chance visit to inspire me to finally put pen to paper.
Terry and I emigrated from England to New Zealand in 2008 and moved to the beautiful Mackenzie Basin where the idea for The Applecross books was born. These days we live in North Canterbury where I still write looking out over the flat plains to the snow-capped mountains beyond. It is a place where it is easy to find inspiration for stories of early pioneers who made this unique place their home. We share our home with two rescued huntaway dogs, Ted and Hunter, some chickens, who are more ornamental than productive, ten acres of wild garden and the dark skies of the Southern Hemisphere.
When not writing, I ring church bells and enjoy photography and finding out about my family history. On lazy days, I get the knitting needles out.
